Karissa Parsons is a graduate of the 3000–hour Registered Massager Therapy program from Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy in Vernon. Karissa is passionate about her career as an RMT, as it allows her to motivate people to live a healthier lifestyle and to understand their own body.
Karissa values the importance of identifying the root cause of her patients’ pain or dysfunction. Assessment and testing enables her to understand each person’s condition so that she can create an individualized and effective treatment plan. She uses a combination of myofascial release, deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, neuro-kinetic therapy, and Swedish massage. These techniques work together to restore muscle mobility and proper muscle performance, as well as aid in circulation and relaxation.
Karissa is experienced in treating people of all ages, patients with sport or work/habitual injuries, and those who want to maintain strong body health. She likes to give her patients stretching and strengthening home-care techniques to enable them to accomplish their health goals and manage their pain.
Karissa loves people, and spending time with her friends and family is always a priority. She enjoys playing volleyball, hiking, wake surfing, cross-stitching, creating macramé and watching sports and movies. Born and raised in Kelowna, the Okanagan summer is Karissa’s favorite season.
