Kristen Carmichael, RMT

Kristen’s willingness to help others and curiosity of human physiology, especially the body’s ability to heal, is why she became an RMT. Kristen’s goal is to improve your overall well-being so you may continue doing what you love. She received her education through the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy in Vernon and holds a Bachelor of Science from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax.

Whether you need to relax and unwind your mind or require help with rehabilitation, she will customize a treatment to meet your needs. Your treatment will be designed based on findings from soft tissue and joint assessments that help to identify the source of discomfort. Kristen’s therapeutic approach to massage therapy combines techniques such as myofascial release and Swedish massage to more clinical trigger point and neuromuscular therapy, depending on what is needed.  Some conditions she has treated include, but are not limited to, low back pain, osteoarthritis, headaches, and nerve compressions. She encourages clients to continue self-care at home with tailored exercises that promote lasting physical and emotional benefits.

Outside of clinic hours Kristen enjoys staying fit by exploring local hiking trails with her spouse and dog. She also enjoys cycling, travelling and reading.
