Kinesiologist, Melissa Brunn, graduated with a Bachelor of Human Kinetics from UBC Okanagan in June 2018. She has just spent the last year in Prince George working with ICBC, WorkSafe BC and private patients, and is now bringing her skills and enthusiasm back to Kelowna.
Melissa enjoys working with clients to improve their functional abilities for both daily living tasks and returning to work. She also has been working with pre and post-natal patients to improve pelvic floor and core strength and function.
Melissa treats clients through exercise therapy; however, this is not your average personal training session. Melissa believes in structuring her treatment to mirror tasks of daily living, occupation, or leisure. The structure of her treatment plan begins with a functional assessment and goal setting with the client. Next, the client is introduced to basic exercises to complete with her supervision, as well as a home program. As the program proceeds, Melissa will monitor the client’s progress, adding exercises, tasks and challenges as she sees fit, all while supervising the session to ensure correct form and technique are used.
Outside of the clinic, Melissa spends her time with family, friends and her dog. She enjoys going to the gym, hockey, tennis and golf.
